After 3 days of 40 plus miles, today we shared the road with logging trucks and so only rode for 30 miles today. We spent the whole day on MS 14. The first 14 miles were perfect. The road was relatively flat and the scenery was cattle ranches, row crops and catfish farms. The traffic was light and the weather was still cool. Once we bike across MS 45, we were back to pine farms and sharing a narrow two lane road with no shoulder with logging trucks. After 16 miles, we called it a day as tomorrow is Saturday and we are hopeful the trucks will not be on the road and it will be less stressful.

We stayed in Starkville, home of Mississippi State University. It is a great town and beautiful campus. We went to a local park for lunch out of the truck cooler. By lunch it was sunny and 82 degrees and Marie was very happy. Afterwards we headed back to the hotel and I had a nice nap. I felt refreshed once I woke up. As Dale worked on the computer, I sat outside and chatted outside with Marie. We finished the evening by walking to a nice restaurant and we all really enjoyed our meals.
