Another good riding day. We drove back to our starting spot and hopped on the bikes. A cool day with low winds and low traffic. I have decided that Saturday is my favorite riding day as the traffic is significantly less. The ride was marked by rolling hills or "rollers". The up hill always looks bigger from the top of the previous hill but it is all perspective (as Madeleine has consistently pointed out to me). As you get closer, the up hill looks more manageable. We have included a picture so you can see what it looks like. Again, a successful day on the hills. There was one really long downhill and then one monster uphill the latter of which did not defeat me!.

Less dogs today as we rode through larger tracts of scenic farm land. We still had to do dog sprints through a couple of small towns. We often encounter the dogs when we are at the peak/end of an uphill climb. Madeleine's mantra of slow and steady is abandoned at that point.

We have fallen into a comfortable routine of meeting up with Marie every ten miles to check in, get some water and take a five minute break. We are always happy to see her ahead at the end of the ten miles. Marie is always looking for a good lunch spot and given the preponderance of churches in the south, we have often chosen an empty parking lot at a church to stop and eat. Mare often comments that we are eating with the Baptists or Methodists each day.
