We started the day with a tire change despite nobody having a flat tire! We did our morning pressure check, decided to pump up the tires, and thought we broke the tube stem. Only after replacing the tube did we realize that it was actually an easy fix - oops! At least Elizabeth got to learn how to change a tire and Sam got a morning FaceTime (thanks, bud).

It was a nice day of biking on interstate 380 from Graham, Texas to Throckmorton, Texas. The traffic has dropped off significantly and the shoulder is about 6 feet wide which is lovely. Although cool when we started out, we had sunshine and it warmed up significantly throughout our ride. The views are pretty consistent with cows, oil rigs, and windmills far off. We will be closer to the windmills tomorrow. We love seeing the cows and get all types of reactions: they just stare at us; they spook and run away; or they run along with us which is always fun. We saw a couple of other interesting sights today: a car and store sign graveyard which went on for about half a mile and a reindeer herd in a paddock next to a house.

We had to go 33 miles ahead to find a motel to stay in. We will be here two nights. We are happy as the weather is nice and we have a picnic table outside our room. We read there this afternoon and played cards there tonight. We had a great and inexpensive dinner at Double A Drive Inn in between reading and cards.

That’s it for today 😊
