We finished biking today 8 miles outside of Jacksboro. Other than right outside of our hotel as we left in the morning, there was no evidence of the tornados we all heard about today. Thank you to all who realized how close we were and reached out. We were at our hotel 75 miles away when the tornados started. We came down to the lobby to sit it out as did others. We even had individuals driving through stop in for a couple of hours to get off the road. We received warnings on our phone although we apparently were not in their destructive path -thank goodness. A period of heavy winds and rain was all that we got, followed by some beautiful rainbows.

Elizabeth and I had a nice ride together on decent roads yesterday although we had to battle the WIND! There were moments we felt as though we were going backwards even though we were aggressively peddling, even going downhill. We saw more of the scenery today as it wasn’t raining. More cows and windmills 😊. There were several huge ranches and Elizabeth spotted a herd of white-tailed deer running.

After completing 36 miles, We checked into our hotel and anxiously awaited the arrival of our nephew, and all around great guy, Joe Brier. He was passing through the area on a short sight-seeing trip and came out of his way to see us. We had a wonderful dinner at a Mexican restaurant with him and then we all hit the hay!
